Queen’s Law is privileged to have the involvement, support and commitment of many alumni, friends and corporate partners across Canada and internationally. Together you are helping the Faculty build on its proud tradition of community, collegiality and service to society through the development of outstanding legal professionals.

Graduates of Queen’s Law have enjoyed the benefits of a first-rate education. It is important that we remember and celebrate our ties with the Faculty by reconnecting at reunions and events and by reading the latest news about the school and fellow graduates. It is also increasingly important for us to do what we can to ensure that Queen’s can afford to follow its mission and remain one of Canada’s top law schools.

With government funding and tuition fees covering only a portion of the costs required to maintain a leading law school, we must rely on the philanthropic support of our entire community. Now would be a good time to consider giving back to Queen’s Law or renewing your commitment. Sitting on the Dean’s Council, I’m privileged to see the wonderful things the Faculty is doing – and the things it is poised to do if the resources are available.

I hope you will make a contribution this year. You can designate a gift to an area of personal or professional interest, help one of the current major projects hit its target, or put your gift in the Dean’s hands to use where it’s needed most. You can also volunteer your time to mentor students. Our contributions make a crucial difference to the future of our law school.

Sincerely,
David Allgood, Law ‘74
