UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon announced Farrell's appointment as the Tribunal's new Prosecutor in March. Named the Michael D. Failes Graduate Fellowship in Labour and Employment Law, it honours the former partner of Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP who specialized in those areas. The award recognizes his work with Kulemela Canada, which he founded in 2009 to address the lack of technical knowledge in developing countries.
