Blair Crew is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.A.,1991), the University of Ottawa (LL.B., 1998) and Cornell University (LL.M., 2005). After articling at Stikeman, Elliott, Blair was called to the bar in Ontario 2000.  In the first five years of his legal career, he practiced criminal law and plaintiff-side civil litigation at Karam, Greenspon, in Ottawa, where he appeared at all levels of court, including two appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada.  From 2005-2018, he served as the inaugural full-time Review Counsel for the Criminal Division at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. During this time, he also taught Faculty of Law courses in Criminal Law, Evidence, and the Law of Sexual Assault.

Blair is a member of the Federal Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee for Ontario – East and North, a panelist Advisor for the Government of Ontario’s Independent Legal Advice for Survivors of Sexual Assault Program, and volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Kingston   

Blair became the Director of Queen’s Legal Aid in 2019, and the Executive Director of the Queen’s Law Clinics in 2024.
