Professor Bita Amani Honoured
Professor Bita Amani, currently on leave, was honoured on May 11, 2006 at the Westin Prince Hotel in Toronto at a Tribute to Iranian-Canadian Academia event.
The event celebrated a select group of Iranian-Canadian professors for their outstanding contributions to Canada's growth and development. In attendance were MPs, MPPs and others.
Professor Amani had scholarly presentations this summer at the University of New Brunswick and York University. She was one of the co-authors (with Professors Baines, Bailey and Bala) of a recent influential government report on Canadian laws surrounding polygamy.
