The Law Faculty at Queen's offers a wide range of optional graduate courses in law. These courses are offered in conjunction with J.D. courses in the law school. Where LL.M. or Ph.D. students take a course for credit (as opposed to auditing the course) they are assessed differently than are students in the parallel J.D. course (with an emphasis placed on writing papers rather than exams). The School of Graduate Studies and Research requires that graduate students in law obtain a grade of "B" or higher in their courses in order to pass.
