The University of Sydney, inaugurated in 1855, is Australia's oldest law school. The new law building, built in 2008, is a state-of-the-art complex located in the heart of the University of Sydney Camperdown Campus.

Students studying at the law school have the opportunity to avail of the University of Sydney's unrivalled international and comparative law courses, social justice programs, and the University's reputation for extensive student engagement and involvement. The law school also has specialized research centres in the fields of Environmental Law, Asian and Pacific Law, Jurisprudence, International Law, Corporate Law, and Criminology.

There are approximately 1,800 undergraduate students and 1,700 postgraduate coursework students at the law school, with 80 full-time world class teaching staff.

Sessional Dates

  • First Semester: Early March to Late June
  • Second Semester: Late July to Late November

Full-time Course Load

For one semester, 24 University of Sydney credit points are equivalent to 15 upper-year Queen's credits.
