Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) sponsors an annual student research fellowship at a number of Canadian law schools, including Queen's. The program was established to recognize academic excellence and promote legal research.
The BLG research fellow is selected each year by the school on the basis of outstanding academic achievement. The student spends the summer working with a faculty member on an approved research project.
In 2009, BLG extended the program, which was launched in 2004, for an additional five years. Under the new agreement, BLG also increased the amount of funding from $10,000 to $12,000. Read the renewal announcement, "Canadian legal research gets $1.2-million boost from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP," on the BLG website.
