Beth Symes, Law ’76, has been named as a Member of the Order of Canada for her contributions as a champion of women’s rights in the legal profession.
Symes is a founding member of LEAF and practises administrative and civil law at her firm Symes and Street in Toronto. She is also a member of the Advisory Committee for the Centre for Law in the Contemporary Workplace at Queen’s Law.
Governor General David Johnston, Law ’66, LLD ’91, announced 54 new appointments to the Order of Canada on December 30, 2010. Recipients will receive their awards at a ceremony later this year.
