The Correctional Law Project's clients are prisoners in the nine federal penitentiaries located in the Kingston area and in Warkworth Institution located near Campbellford, Ontario. The Project provides our clients with advice, assistance and representation in the areas of Correctional and Criminal Law set out below:

DISCIPLINARY COURT We represent prisoners in Penitentiary Disciplinary Court. If a prisoner is charged with a disciplinary offence, we can represent the prisoner at his trial. |
INMATE APPEALS We assist prisoners with their Inmate Appeals against conviction and/or sentence by preparing written facta for the Court of Appeal for Ontario and by arguing their appeals in Court. |

PAROLE HEARINGS We represent prisoners at early release hearings before the National Parole Board. |
INVOLUNTARY TRANSFERS We provide advice and assistance to prisoners facing an involuntary transfer or who have been involuntarily transferred. |

RESIDENCY HEARINGS We represent prisoners at Residency Hearings before the National Parole Board. |
CONFINEMENT IN SEGREGATION We provide advice and assistance to prisoners who are involuntarily confined in segregation. |

POST-SUSPENSION AND POST-REVOCATION HEARINGS We represent prisoners at Post-Suspension and Post-Revocation Hearings before the National Parole Board. |
TRANSFERS TO A SPECIAL HANDLING UNIT We provide advice and assistance to prisoners facing transfers to a Special Handling Unit. |

DETENTION HEARINGS We represent prisoners at Detention Hearings before the National Parole Board. |
PAROLE PROBLEMS When our resources allow us to do so, we provide advice and assistance to prisoners concerning parole problems. |

DETENTION REVIEW HEARINGS We represent prisoners at Detention Review Hearings before the National Parole Board. |
REFERRALS We are not able to assist every prisoner who comes to us for help. However, if we cannot help, we will try to refer the prisoner to someone who can. |
We do not charge for our services. Our services are free to prisoners who meet our financial eligibility criteria.
