Law students with disabilities who are seeking accommodation are expected to attend for assessment at the University's Disability Services Office which is part of Health, Counselling and Disability Services. "Disabilities" include learning, physical and psychiatric disabilities.
The Disability Services Office will make recommendations when appropriate about reasonable accommodations. Students who receive recommendations for accommodations from the Disability Services Office must submit the Recommendation for Academic Accommodation form signed by the Disability Services Advisor to the Manager, Education and Equity Services, Helen Connop. If the accommodations are unusual and doubt exists over whether they can be implemented, the form from the Disability Services Office will be referred to the Academic Standing and Policies Committee, along with any supporting medical documentation and the Committee will have an opportunity to discuss and respond to the recommendations. As much as possible, the Committee will accept and comply with the recommendations made by the staff at the Disability Services Office.
All students (new and returning) must register with the Disability Services Advisor by appointment every year. It is in the student's best interest to register at the earliest opportunity. For further details, please contact the Disability Services Office:
