Selection Process: ten minute oral argument before panel of judges at general tryouts.
Participants address a hypothetical dispute affecting the bi-lateral relationship before the International Court of Justice. The competition draws together approximately 15 to 30 Canadian and American law schools from the Great Lakes region and can be held in Canada or the United States. Recently, Queen's law won the Best Team Memorial (Respondent) in 2009. The Best Oralist Award went to Noemi Paquette in 2010. (http://law.case.edu/centers/canada_us/niagara.html)
Co-requisite: Passed, or enrolled in International Law (LAW-540) in the fall term
Helpful but not necessary, past enrollment in International Environmental and Resource Law (Law 538)
Course Evaluation: Letter grade based upon research, written factum, performance and participation during preparation and at the competition.
