Jana Mills, Law ’92, clerked for the Court of Appeal for Ontario before her Call to the Bar in 1994. Returning to her hometown of Kingston, she practiced as a sole practitioner in the areas of criminal and correctional law. In 1995 she assisted Commission counsel to the “Commission of Inquiry into Events at Prison for Women in Kingston” (The Honourable Louise Arbour, 1996) and in 1996 she assisted Commission counsel to the “Commission on Proceedings Involving Guy Paul Morin (The Honourable Fred Kaufman, 1997). She joined Queen’s Legal Aid as Review Counsel in 2007 after 9 years’ experience in Ontario’s community legal clinic system.
