Linda Smith, Law’92, practiced law in Kingston and the surrounding area for more than 20 years.  She has represented hundreds of legal aid clients in her capacity as a Legal Aid Ontario panel lawyer in family law, criminal law, child protection litigation and domestic violence matters.  Linda also acted as duty/advice counsel on the per diem panel of lawyers assisting clients at the Family Court in Kingston.

Linda has a special interest in the intersection between criminal and family law and in affecting reform in order to improve outcomes for families and children. In 2017, she returned to her alma mater as Review Counsel to work with student caseworkers at both Queen’s Legal Aid and Queen’s Family Law Clinic.  Since joining the Queen’s Law Clinics, Linda coached the Queen’s Walsh Family Moot Team to success in 2018.  Linda also works with Pro Bono Students Canada as a supervising lawyer on various projects to provide access to legal information for members of the community.  Linda is honoured to have the opportunity to work with law students in the unique experiential learning environment at Queen’s Law Clinics.
