Alicia K Quesnel (BA 1987, MA 1989, LLB (Queen's) 1993 and LLM 1994) is Managing Director of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP (BDP) in Calgary, Alberta. As Partner, she practiced in the energy/commercial transactions and competition law groups. Ms Quesnel has more than 20 years of experience advising on matters pertaining to the structuring and implementation of significant large-scale conventional and non-conventional (oil sands, CBM, LNG) resource and midstream joint venture projects in Canada, conventional and non-conventional (oil sands and electricity) royalty financings; private M&A transactions and related energy matters and commercial matters. Alicia also provides clients with advice and assistance on securing foreign investment approvals, particularly as they relate to investments in Canada by state-owned enterprises, as well as securing competition approvals and providing advice on competition matters relating to strategic alliances, conspiracies and abuse of dominance.
