At law school, I delved into constitutional, administrative, and human rights laws through organizing moot courts, interning at Rural Litigation Entitlement Kendra, and conducting research under Dr. Rajalaksmi Wagh and Dr. Jaykumar Bhongale.

I am a lawyer from China, specializing in handling civil and commercial litigation cases. Throughout my legal career, I have identified many biases within the current legal system, and I have continuously reflected on these issues. I believe that solving certain social and equity issues ultimately requires changes in the law. As I age, I increasingly realize that for some of the causes I've always dreamed of pursuing, if I don't act soon, my opportunities to pursue them may diminish.

It means an opportunity to start the journey to dive deeper into a concept, an idea, a thought and examine its depth, width and extent.

I have been interested in the Haudenosaunee Great Law of Peace for many years, having heard stories of the Peacemaker since my youth. Reading academic treatments of the Great Law during my undergraduate studies I came to realize that most sources analyze Haudenosaunee law through an ethnographic lens, and so entering the JD program at Queen’s I was intent on learning legal theory so that I could understand and comment on Haudenosaunee law as law, rather than as a cultural or historical artefact.
