David Lepofsky holds an LLB (Osgoode Hall Law School 1979), LL.M (Harvard Law School 1982), and honorary doctorates from Queen’s (1999), University of Western Ontario (2006), Law Society of Ontario (2016), and Brock University (2022). One of Canada’s most prominent blind lawyers, he advocates for the enactment and implementation of new legislation in Ontario to remove and prevent barriers against people with physical, mental, or sensory disabilities. One of his missions is to educate law students on how to effectively serve the legal needs of clients with disabilities. Among various volunteer leadership roles in the disability community, David is chair of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Alliance and a member and chair of the Toronto District School Board’s Special Education Advisory Committee. A member of the Order of Canada (1995), David will be available as a guest lecturer on select dates throughout the year.
