Patrice is Senior Managing Director, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary at CPP Investments, where she serves on the senior management team and leads the legal, compliance and corporate secretarial functions globally, and oversees the internal assurance and advisory function. She is a seasoned business lawyer and trusted advisor with deep experience in transactions, regulation, corporate governance and providing strategic counsel.
Prior to joining CPP Investments, Patrice was a partner at Torys LLP, a highly respected international business law firm, where she spent over 22 years advising some of Canada’s largest public, private and government businesses on transactions and strategic initiatives.
Patrice was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by WXN in 2019 and was recognized by Chambers & Partners in 2019 as one of the most influential General Counsel in Canada and in 2025 and 2026 as one of the world’s leading in-house counsel. In 2022, Patrice received a “Legend in Law Award” by the US-based Burton Award Program recognizing her outstanding reputation in the legal profession and a demonstrated track record of addressing complex matters of national or global significance.
Patrice is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of Queen’s University. She holds the ICD.D designation.
