Patrice Walch-Watson is a seasoned business lawyer and a proud graduate of Queen’s Law. She recently joined Canada Pension Plan Investment Board as Senior Managing Director, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, where she is responsible for leading CPPIB’s global legal, corporate secretarial and compliance functions.
Patrice brings a wealth of experience, most recently as a partner at Torys LLP, a highly respected international business law firm, where she spent over 22 years advising some of Canada’s largest public, private and government businesses on transactions and strategic initiatives. Her corporate and securities practice focused primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, privatizations and corporate governance. She also served in a number of management roles at Torys, including as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Patrice has been a speaker at a number of conferences on securities law and governance topics, and was a member of the expert panel of business law stakeholders convened by the Province of Ontario in 2015 to provide the government with advice on priorities for reform of the Province's corporate and commercial statutes. Patrice also serves on a number of charitable boards.
