While most clerkship applications will be due early in the Winter semester, it is best to begin your preparations early.

Please note that students can only apply to the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario) during their 2L year. All other courts will accept applications from both 2L and 3L students.

Clerkships allow students to engage in in-depth legal research, writing, and critical analysis under the direct guidance and mentorship of one or more judges. Some students pursue clerkships to satisfy the experiential training component of their provinces’ licensing requirements.

Receive an overview of clerkship opportunities across Canada, key dates, and the elements common to clerkship applications.

You should attend this session to gain a foundational understanding of the clerkship application process. This can help you decide if you want to clerk and how you can begin to prepare effective applications.
