Price was a leader in Canadian correctional law who retired from Queen's in 1996.
Professor Ronald R. Price was a pioneer in Canadian correctional law and a beloved member of Queen’s Law. In 1973, he founded the Queen’s Correctional Law Project, a ground-breaking initiative that provided legal assistance to inmates in Kingston-area penitentiaries. Under his supervision, law students gained hands-on experience advocating for incarcerated individuals. His legacy continues today through the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic. After Professor Price’s retirement in 1996, he developed the Queen’s Law Students’ Mediation Service in 1997, and co-founded the Mediation Centre of Southeastern Ontario in 2001.
