Queen’s Law celebrations continued this spring, with the latest stop being in London, England.

On June 1, alumni in the U.K. joined Dean Bill Flanagan at Canada House in Trafalgar Square. The event, a reception for Canadian law school graduates, was co-hosted by the deans and the High Commission of Canada.

Scott Palmer, Law'07, Director of Legal and Compliance with BRE Global Ltd., was just one Queen's Law alumnus who enjoyed the networking event. “It’s great to share stories with other Queen’s Law grads and get to know what they’re up to in the U.K.,” he says.

Guests were in for another treat as well. Just 15 weeks earlier, Queen Elizabeth officially reopened the venue, which had undergone years of renovation and a consolidation of offices from other buildings.

“Some of us, including Dean Flanagan, were lucky enough to get a private guided tour around the recently refurbished and spectacular Canada House,” says Palmer. “That was another perk of staying in touch and involved!”

Dean Flanagan, who was already in London to teach in the Global Law Programs at the Queen’s-owned Herstmonceux Castle, shared with graduates all the good news from Macdonald Hall. Learning about the recently launched David Allgood Professorship in Business Law and amalgamated Queen’s Law Clinics added even more excitement to the evening.
