The Med-Law Games trophy will stay in Macdonald Hall for another year! In the second annual intra-faculty competition, held on Feb. 7 in the Phys Ed Centre, the Queen’s Law team bested their rivals from Queen’s Medicine. Law’s athletes won three of the five events in handball, soccer, dodgeball, basketball and volleyball.
The biggest winner of the tournament is the Alzheimer's Society of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. More than $3,400 was raised for the organization from ticket and t-shirt sales and from fundraising events held earlier this term.
“The feedback from students about this year's tournament has been outstanding!” says Jennifer Dumoulin, Law’15, co-chair of the MLG organizing committee. “We really took things up a notch, adding in an extra sport, and moving our fundraising efforts online. Queen's Law students participated, spectated and volunteered in droves – they were excited to raise money and give back to the local community, and they also got to meet new friends and future colleagues in another Faculty."
Plans are already underway for MLG 2016!
