Saro is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Law, Queens University. Her work at Queen's Law pertains to the impact of tax administration agreements, between select First Nations and the Canada Revenue Agency, on First Nations self-governance and self-determination.

Saro has 28 years of multidisciplinary academic and work experience. Early in her career, Saro worked with Ontario Hydro, OHIP and the Ontario Public Service as organizational effectiveness and human rights specialist. Her interventions linked human dignity and organizational excellence. This focus evolved to include corporate and fiscal citizenship within a law and development paradigm. 

Anchored in principles of adult education, Saro has pursued organizational efficiencies and human capital excellence through administrative fairness. Her work with the South African Revenue Agency focused on corporate governance, tax research and policy, compliance research and enforcement, and fair administrative practices.
