Queen’s Law’82 alumna recognized for exceptional mentorship

Throughout a 30-year career with Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP, Connie Reeve, Law’82, has excelled in her law practise. Starting in her early days there, she also became an influential mentor. On June 4, the Labour and Employment section of the Ontario Bar Association saluted both sets of contributions by presenting her with the 2015 Randall Echlin Mentorship Award.

From ‘RISK’ to Reward, Queen’s Law’77 grad recognized with Award of Excellence

What began as strategy board games played with fellow law students and professors has grown into an esteemed career in public and private international law for one Queen’s alumnus. Scott Fairley, Law’77 (Artsci’74), has now been honoured for his leadership and expertise in the field. On June 16, the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) presented him with the 2015 Award of Excellence in International Law.

Queen’s Law’91 alumna secures top legal post at CPP Investment Board

As a business lawyer at Torys LLP for more than two decades, Patrice Walch-Watson, Law’91, has played a leading role in advising some of Canada’s largest public, private and government businesses in a wide array of transactions. Now she is playing a new executive leadership role. On June 5, she began her appointment as Senior Managing Director & General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
