Emerging issues in Constitutional Law focus of conference at Queen’s Law this fall

On October 2-3, 2015, Queen’s Law will host an international conference on “Constitutional Culture,” co-sponsored by the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University, with over twenty speakers from Queen’s, Tel Aviv, Toronto and leading American law schools. The conference will address the ways in which constitutions shape cultures, and the ways in which cultures shape constitutions.

New PhD students bring diverse research interests to Queen’s Law

Six accomplished scholars will be joining the Queen’s PhD in Law program this year, adding new vigor to Queen’s Law’s established research culture. The students come from varied professional and research backgrounds, but are united in their desire to devote the next three years of their lives to the production of original and substantial pieces of legal scholarship.

Two Queen’s Law grads make Canadian Lawyer’s ‘Top 25 Most Influential’ list

Canadian Lawyer magazine has named two alumni, both judges, among its 2015 “Top 25 Most Influential” people in the justice system and legal profession. Justice David Stratas, Law’84, LLD’12, of the Federal Court of Appeal and Justice Ian Nordheimer, Law’76 (Com’73), of the Ontario Superior Court were both selected in the corporate-commercial category.
