Former Dean Bill Flanagan, “a visionary who through perseverance, tact and hard work led the transformation of Queen’s Law to be among the best law schools in the country,” is being honoured with an award in his name: the Dean Bill Flanagan International Studies Award.
Setting research grant records for our school, our professors will use the funds won in national competitions to study an amazing variety of legal issues.
Mark Walters, Law’89 graduate and former faculty member, returns to lead Queen’s Law’s next phase of remarkable development. He has a depth and breadth of experience in research, teaching and academic leadership that will enable Queen’s Law to continue its momentum as one of Canada’s leading law schools. Dean Walters shares his thoughts and plans for the school and its community members.
A ground-breaking program at Queen’s Law is poised to transform the training of individuals seeking entrance to the immigration and citizenship consulting profession. “We’re proud to be at the centre of a program that will increase the quality and reliability of immigration services and increase access to justice for those who often need it most,” says Professor Sharry Aiken, Academic Director of the Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law. Queen’s Law will launch the program in January 2021.
