Queen’s alumna and previous visiting scholar, Lydia Stewart-Ferreira, Law’00, is advancing an ambitious access to justice research project funded by the Law Foundation of Ontario. In this project, she is developing research to support the creation of a program that will help older adults navigate the legal system with the assistance of trusted “intermediaries,” which include doctors, social workers, and people working in the service sector.

Queen’s Law is celebrating the memory of one of its most cherished and beloved members, a pioneer of education equity, a scholar of gender equality, and a great builder of the Queen’s law school community, Rosemary Ofei-Aboagye King. Rosemary passed away on July 6, 2021 at the age of 57. A virtual memorial service and celebration of life is taking place at 11:00 a.m. ET on July 21, 2021.

Throughout her career, as a university law teacher, an academic support director, and a provincial commissioner, Wendy Whitecloud has helped promote justice for Indigenous people. For her sustained and outstanding work, she received this year’s Justice Thomas Cromwell Distinguished Public Service Award.
