Queen’s conference to explore race, Indigenous and sex/gender intersectionalities, food insecurity and sustainable development

At this year's Feminist Legal Studies Queen's conference, experts will focus on three policy issues that lie at the heart of the sustainability of the earth’s biosphere – and human lives – as they should be: equal access for all to life-nourishing food; human development that preserves and protects the sustainability of the biosphere; and equality and empowerment of women.

Queen’s Castle conference to address challenges to international law

Queen’s Herstmonceux Castle in the U.K. is the site of a May 30-31 conference, “International Law at a Crossroads,” that will build a network for the international law community, showcase the success of the Queen’s Law program that has allowed 800-plus students to pursue their interest in international law, and celebrate the 14-year deanship of the program’s founding director, Dean Bill Flanagan.

The Honourable Hugh Landerkin, QC, Law’67, has received the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers from the Governor General of Canada. At Queen's Law, he's also the benefactor of the William R. Lederman Visitorship that brings distinguished individuals of national or international renown in law to campus, where they engage in the intellectual life of the school.
